Dome Records

LABEL OF THE WEEK #009

The UK’s Dome Records was formed in 1992 by ex-RCA, Sony and Chrysalis A&R man Peter Robinson and is celebrating its 30th birthday this year!

Specialising in soul, R&B and jazz funk, it has also been releasing soulful house and disco tracks in recent years with mixes from the likes of Michele Chiavarini, JKriv, Rob Hardt and Micky More & Andy Tee.

Early artists signed to the label include Beverley Knight, Hil St Soul, Dennis Taylor, Rahsaan Patterson, George Duke, James Taylor Quartet and Brenda Russell, as well as a long association with Incognito that began back in 2003.

More recent years have seen releases from Tortured Soul, Anthony David, Avery Sunshine, Drizabone Soul Family, Down To The Bone, Shaun Escoffery, Bluey, Jarrod Lawson, Full Flava and many other stellar artists from the US and UK. The label is marking its three funky decades with the release of a string of new singles and two 25-track volumes of 'Dome 30 Years', the first of which is released on all digital services on April 29th.

Incognito’s amazing cover of the Idris Muhammad classic 'Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’, kicks off the 'Dome 30 Years' compilation with Bluey's own version, while CD Pool feature Ski Oakenfull's more dancefloor-friendly remix on our April '22 House CD!
